Story: I never had this outfit when I was a kid.
(All the good stories seem to start with that, don't they? Well, at least mine do.)
So, I never owned this outfit. Always wanted it after gazing longinly at Jem fashions displayed on the back of the box. But, alas, no sexy Misfits fashion for me. Heck, I never even saw the outfit in stores. Never.
So it's one of the fashions I have wanted. In the last year, I've had it in my hands twice. Both times, I couldn't afford to buy it.
Still no fashion for me. *sniffle*
So, a couple of weeks ago, I did search and found the You Gotta Be Fast model cel for sale! It was a crazy lucky thing as the cel'd had a Buy it Now price so someone could have snatched it up and I never would have had a chance.
Instead, someone bid on the cel and I got that chance.
Usually, that's the end of the story. But of course, the road never runs smoothly on these things. Some perverse gremlin was going to make me sweat and worry for this cel!
I couldn't be home the day the auction ended to keep an eye on Roxy. Instead, I was lucky enough to hear Tobias Buckell, John Scalzi, & Paul Melko speak.
While it was a most awesome day, my mind would wander back to the cel. And the utterly insane high bid I'd placed that morning just before leaving home (praying that nobody called me on it).
Finally, got home, logged on with breath held, and checked Roxy.
The Exhale of Relief was heard several states over.
